Speech/Languageservices are an integral part of the student's total education. Speech/Language Specialists provide the following:
Identifying students with communication needs in the areas of speaking, listening, and comprehension from ages 3 - 21.
Evaluating and diagnosing communication needs to determine if the student's ability to communicate is typical, delayed or disordered.
Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP) based upon each student's needs.
Providing goal-based instruction in individual and/or small group therapy sessions.
Periodic re-evaluation of student progress.

Patricia Mikiewicz is a Speech/Language Specialist based at the E.H. Bryan School. She provides therapy in the remediation of disorders of articulation, language, fluency and voice production individually and in small groups. Ms. Mikiewicz also evaluates all preschool and out of district students.

Shara Hirsch is a Speech/Language Specialist who recently joined the Cresskill School District. She provides speech/language services to students at Edward H. Bryan School.
A school-based occupational therapist, or OT, looks at educationally relevant skills of children in their natural school setting. A school-based OT assesses a child's fine motor, gross motor, visual-perceptual, visual-motor, and self-help skills, along with his or her sensory needs, and how these impact functional ability in the classroom. The focus of school-based OT treatment services is to improve a child's development in the areas that he or she may have difficulties with that impede his or her abiltiy to experience success as a student in the classroom enviornment.

Cindy Pendergraft is an Occupational Therapist who joined the Cresskill School District in 2010. She provides occupational therapy services to students in preschool and up to the 6th grade who attend Merritt Memorial school, E.H. Bryan school, and Cresskill Middle school.
Brittani Argott, M.A. , BCBA
District Behavior Analyst
Brittani Argott joined the Cresskill School District in 2011 as one of our Step By Step teachers and is now the District Behavior Analyst. She comes to us with over 7 years experience in the home, private school, and public school settings utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to reduce disruptive behavior and increase skill acquisition both in the classroom and in the community. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education and Psychology from William Paterson University. She earned her Masters of Arts in Special Education and Post Masters coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis from Caldwell College.
