Janelle Amato , Ph.D.
Dr. Janelle Amato earned her doctorate in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University in 2008. She began her career in school psychology in 2004 as a member of the Child Study Team for a local New Jersey school. In 2006 Dr. Amato accepted a position with the Cresskill Public School District, where she has served as the Director of Special Services since 2011. Dr. Amato also holds a position as an Adjunct Professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, New Jersey, where she has taught graduate level courses in Psychopathology, Developmental Psychology, Child Psychopathology, and Special Education . She also practices psychology at a local clinic and has experience treating anxiety, mood disorders, family conflict, inattention/impulsivity, and life transitions. Dr. Amato is committed to the education of all students and is proud to supervise programs ranging from ages 3 to 21.
Alice Apice is our Child Study Team Secretary since 2010. She comes to the district with 14 years experience. She is a great resource for students, teachers and families. Alice is located in the Board of Education Offices.
Colby Mulkeen , M.A.
Colby's experiences as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant include sharing current best practices and resources to promote informed decision making in the classroom and assessing and analyzing students’ learning characteristics. He is a graduate of Siena College and Montclair State University.
Jennifer Pappachristou, Psy.D.
Jennifer Pappachristou is a school psychologist who has worked in the Cresskill School District since 2004. She performs psychological assessments of intelligence, behavioral, adaptive behavior, transition skills, and social/emotional functioning for students ranging in age from preschool to 21. She provides counseling, social skills training, and crisis intervention, and also attends Intervention and Referral Service committee meetings. Dr. Pappachristou has experience in treating students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Selective Mutism and Mood Disorders. Dr. Pappachristou received her School-Clinical Child Psychology Doctoral degree (Psy.D.) from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, a division of Yeshiva University, after attending Fordham University’s Graduate School of Education for her Masters in Preschool Psychology (M.S. Ed.) and Professional Diploma in School Psychology.
Cassandra Morrone , MA
Cassandra Morrone is a school psychologist who has worked in the Cresskill School District since 2012. Cassandra earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Syracuse University and her master’s degree in School Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Prior to working in schools on the Child Study Team Cassandra gained invaluable experience working in an outpatient mental health therapy program for adolescents. She performs psychological assessments of intelligence, behavioral, adaptive, and social/emotional functioning of students ranging from preschool to high school. She also provides counseling, social skills training and crisis intervention.
Kristen Sellix , LCSW
Kristen Sellix is a School Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has worked in the Cresskill School District since 2016. Kristen earned her Bachelors of Social Work from Ramapo College and her Masters of Social Work from NYU. She performs Social History evaluations for the child study team assessing behavioral and social/emotional functioning of students ranging from preschool through age 21. She also provides counseling, social skills training, crisis intervention and training as well as helping to facilitate the district's Community Steps to Independence 18-21 vocational and life skills program.
Revital Sholomon , M.A.
Revital Sholomon is a Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant. She has been a member of the Cresskill Child Study Team since 2010. Ms. Sholomon received her Masters in Special Education and General Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She has taught in multiple elementary grades prior to joining the Child Study Team. She is trained in assessing students’ learning styles and recommending optimal placements with modifications and accommodations based on the individual needs of the student.
Lisa Ruane, LCSW, CHT
Lisa Ruane is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified School Social Worker who earned her MSW from Boston College. She joined the Cresskill Child Study team as a case manager in 2014. Lisa provides crisis intervention and direct counseling in addition to leading social skills groups, conducting social evaluations and performing case management duties. Lisa’s background is in Crisis Intervention, working in multiple hospital emergency rooms performing psychiatric evaluations and social work consults. She has a private practice where she sees children and adults with a myriad of social, emotional, behavioral and psychiatric concerns including but not limited to Trauma, Addiction, Depressive and Anxiety Disorders, Disruptive, Impulse and Conduct Disorders and Neurodevelopmental Disorders such as ADHD, Tic and Touretts disorders. Lisa is also a Certified Hypnotherapist.
