Day of Service

At EHB, we believe in honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. not just through words, but through actions. On a bright and cheerful morning, our entire school came together to participate in a day of service, reflecting Dr. King's vision of equality, compassion, and service to others.

From the youngest kindergarteners to the most seasoned fifth graders, every student eagerly participated in various service activities aimed at making a positive impact on our community and the world around us. The spirit of unity and kindness was palpable as we worked together towards common goals.

One of the service activities we embarked upon was raising money for endangered animals,  inspired by Dr. King's commitment to justice and compassion for all beings .In another initiative, we collected funds for an organization called Table to Table, which tirelessly works to combat hunger in our local communities. Additionally, our school community came together to collect food donations for Cresskill Cares, a local food pantry dedicated to providing assistance to individuals and families facing food insecurity.

What made this day of service truly special was the collective effort of all grade levels at our school. Whether it was organizing fundraising events, spreading awareness about important issues, or actively participating in service projects, every student played a valuable role in making a positive impact.

As we reflect on this day of service, we are reminded of Dr. King's timeless words: "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" Through our actions today, we answered that question with compassion, generosity, and a commitment to making the world a better place for all.

At EHB, we are proud to carry forward Dr. King's legacy of service and justice, knowing that even the smallest acts of kindness can create ripple effects of positive change in our world.
