Just a reminder that we are hosting "Trauma Informed Parenting" as part of our Coffee with the Superintendent series. In-person is at 8:30 AM in the EHB Cafeteria. Virtual is this evening at 8:00 PM. All are welcome!
The fifth grade completed their science unit yesterday with a lab dissecting owl pellets. Do you have an idea of was found as then took time to dissect the contents of the pellets?! Look through the pictures to see more!
Next Monday, November 6th, Dr. Hughes and Dr. Amato will be hosting a special event for TRAUMA INFORMED PARENTING in person at 8:30 am at EHB and virtually at 8:00 pm to discuss ways to support children through times of trauma.
These sessions will focus in particular on helping our children with resilience, provide helpful insight into their needs and how to provide a supportive environment at home and school. We will also discuss the importance of self-care for parents. All are invited, but especially those impacted by the war.

Dr. Hughes won the math fact challenge today. He almost lost to our elementary students at Merritt School though. They are super fast!
Some great protections are being put into place as we fix our front drainage and install new flood barriers. This will work to greatly enhance the protection of our high school from any threats of water.
We are so excited that our Director of Special Education, Dr. Janelle Amato, is representing Cresskill as she speaks to school board members from across the state at the NJSBA conference in Atlantic City. @njsba
Red Ribbon Week highlights the importance of living a drug
free life. We will be hosting a spirit week to acknowledge Red Ribbon Week from October 23rd - October 27th.
Thank you to the 55 participants that began the work towards creating a five year strategic plan for our schools. Students, staff, parents, and BOE members all lent their expertise to the process. We are excited to realize our collective vision that we make together!
We are excited to begin our strategic planning process this evening to guide our next five years of improvement in the schools. At 7 pm in the auditorium of the high school, we will be welcoming students, staff, parents, and community members to be a part of advising us on our path towards continued excellence!

Our fifth graders are being good role models for the younger students. They are putting bullying to rest and are committed to doing acts of kindness!
The Garden Club has officially started! It took no time for our gardeners to get right to work in helping to maintain our beautiful garden! Stay tuned to see the many different things our club yields this year.
Merritt Memorial School had a special visitor today! Fresh Prince from the Harlem Wizards came and taught some basketball tricks to our school! Make sure to buy your tickets to see your very own Cresskill Public School's staff take on the Harlem Wizards on the court on Tuesday, October 17th!
